Emergency WASH Support for Earthquake-Affected Communities in Dara-e-Nur

Following the devastating earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan on 31 August 2025, communities in Nangarhar faced significant loss and urgent humanitarian needs, including limited access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation.

In response, DACAAR, with funding from the European Union (EU), provided emergency Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) assistance to earthquake-affected communities in Dara-e-Nur district of Nangarhar Province.

The response included the provision of safe drinking water, emergency sanitation and bathing facilities, and other essential WASH support to help affected families meet their immediate needs and maintain health and dignity during the crisis.

This short video highlights DACAAR’s emergency WASH response in Dara-e-Nur and the support provided to earthquake-affected communities as they begin recovering and rebuilding their lives.
