Where we work

Initially, we began providing much needed relief to Afghan refugees living in refugee camps in Pakistan. Gradually we have expanded our geographical reach, and in recent years our focus has been solely on Afghanistan. In 2002 DACAAR’s main office was moved from Peshawar, Pakistan to Kabul, Afghanistan, and as of 2006 all activities in Pakistan were terminated, making water and sanitation activities and sustainable development inside Afghanistan our sole objective. To date, our activities have benefitted Afghans living in 27 out of Afghanistan's 34 provinces and we currently have projects in 14 provinces.
